SPECIAL SEMESTER PROGRAMME

Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa (SLU), wishes to inform the general public, particularly students who were unable to complete their studies due to outstanding or failed courses and have exhausted their residency, that the Senate has approved the conduct of a Special Semester Programme that will give them opportunity to resit.

The Programme is designed to provide eligible candidates with an opportunity to register and complete their outstanding academic requirements for graduation.

📋 ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION

To be eligible for the special semester, one must be:

  1. A Spillover II students with outstanding or failed courses that cannot be registered.
  2. Students who have exhausted their normal period of residency but still have outstanding courses.
  3. Spillover II students who deferred their studies and wish to complete their academic programmes.

⚙️ KEY FEATURES OF THE SPECIAL SEMESTER

  • Duration: The Special Semester shall run for eight (8) weeks, including registration, revision lectures and examinations.
  • Course Registration: Eligible students may register for their trailing and outstanding courses irrespective of their original semester.
  • Credit Units: A maximum of 24 credit units only would be registered during the semester.
  • Priority: Priority shall be given to students in their final period of residency to enable them complete their programmes.

📝 APPLICATION & REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

  • Detailed guidelines for application and registration will be released subsequently.
  • The Special Semester Application Portal will open on Monday, 13th July, 2026.
  • Interested candidates are advised to complete their applications within the stipulated period.
  • Application link and further instructions will be published through the University’s official communication channels.

  • PORTAL OPENS: Monday, 13th July, 2026
  • PORTAL CLOSES: Monday, 3rd August, 2026 (3 weeks after opening)
  • PROGRAMME DURATION: 8 Weeks
